According to Hall of Famer Warren Sapp, Colin Kaepernick’s final attempt to land a job with the National Football League didn’t go so well.
Sapp didn’t hold back while discussing Kaepernick’s May workout with the Las Vegas Raiders in an interview with the urban news outlet VladTV. There were whispers that the training didn’t go well, the VladTV anchor said.
Sapp jumped in, saying, “I heard it was a disaster. I heard it was one of the worst workouts ever. I’m wondering how the hell this happened and the tape didn’t get out, right?”
Sapp deemed it quite strange that no footage had surfaced.
The Raiders offered Kaepernick a chance to work out because they are looking for a backup quarterback and felt he still had something to offer despite his six-year absence from the NFL.
The Raiders stated that the tryout “went well” following the session but did not go into further detail beyond stating that a signing was possible. It was then radio silent.
For the San Francisco 49ers, Kaepernick last competed in 2017. Since then, he has established a career as a spokesperson for social concerns and developed into a Nike symbol.
